Small in-town moves start in the low hundreds; cross-country cellar relocations range from a few thousand to five figures depending on bottle count, packing scope, and lane. Every quote is same-day and itemized — pick & pack, inventory, storage, and transport are each broken out so you see exactly what you're paying for.

Is my wine insured while you move it?

Yes. Every shipment is fully insured end-to-end, from the moment we touch the first bottle at pickup to the last one racked at delivery. Coverage is written against declared collection value, not a generic per-pound freight limit, so a case of first-growth Bordeaux is covered for what it's actually worth.

How do you keep wine at 55 degrees during transport?

Wine rides in climate-controlled trailers held at cellar temperature (roughly 55°F) from pickup through delivery. Between pickup and long-haul freight, cases rest in a temperature-controlled warehouse — never a hot dock, never a dry van. Local pickup and delivery legs use climate-controlled vehicles too.

Is there a minimum number of bottles you'll move?

No hard minimum. We've moved everything from a single 12-bottle case across town to 100+ case cellars across the country. Very small in-town moves are handled as short pick & pack jobs; long-distance moves are usually more economical starting around a few cases so the freight cost pencils out.

Can you move wine in the summer?

Yes — that's actually when most collectors need us. Because we run 55° climate-controlled trailers and store between legs in a temperature-controlled warehouse, summer moves are handled the same as any other season. We do not use standard dry-van freight, which is where heat damage to wine typically happens.

How much lead time do you need to book a wine move?

For local pickups we can often move within a few days. For interstate cellar relocations, two to four weeks is comfortable — it lets us schedule a dedicated climate-controlled trailer and coordinate with your realtor or moving company. Do you pack the wine, or do I need to pack it myself?

Either works. Our crew can pack every bottle in shock-absorbent, layflat 12-pack wine boxes, or you can pack it yourself and we handle transport only — or any mix. The quote form has a packaging question so we price the job the way you want to run it.

Do you offer wine storage between moves?

Accepted Answer

Yes — through our partner Nashville Wine Storage, the only licensed wine storage facility in Tennessee. Short-term holds between homes and long-term cellaring are both available in secure, temperature-controlled space purpose-built for fine wine.

Where are you based and how far do you travel?

Accepted Answer

We're based in Nashville, Tennessee and move wine to and from all 50 states. Common lanes include Nashville ↔ NYC, Napa ↔ Nashville, Napa ↔ NYC, Chicago ↔ Miami, and LA ↔ Boston, but we build custom routes for wherever your cellar is going.

Can movers move wine? Why do I need a wine specialist?

General movers can technically move sealed bottles, but they don't run climate-controlled trailers, store at 55° between legs, or insure against collection value. A single hot afternoon on a standard freight dock is enough to damage a case of aged wine. A wine mover exists specifically to eliminate that risk end-to-end.
